The Enterprise Project allows raw gas to flow from the offshore Enterprise gas reservoir through the onshore wellsite to Beach’s Otway Gas Plant where it is produced for supply to the Victorian gas market.
Beach drilled the offshore Enterprise 1 exploration well in 2020 using Extended Reach Drilling from an onshore wellsite located approximately 4 km west of Port Campbell. Testing and assessment delivered a positive result and the Enterprise 1 exploration well was successfully completed in December 2020.
Following the completion of the pipeline and wellsite facilities design and receipt of the required licences, permits and approvals, construction of the approximately 11 km long pipeline (PL006998) and the wellsite facilities commenced in late 2022. Reinstatement activities to complete the construction of the Enterprise pipeline were undertaken in April 2024.
Gas production commenced in June 2024 following the completion of construction and commissioning of the wellsite facilities.
Regulatory approvals for the operation of the Enterprise well have included an Environment Plan and an Operation Plan for the production of gas and operation of the wellsite, and safety and environmental management plans for the operations of the pipeline.
